Contested Divorce-It doesn’t Have To Be Difficult

April 28, 2010

Ending a marriage is not only hard but very emotionally draining for both parties involved. If you opt for a divorce you can either have one that is contested or uncontested. Hopefully you will fall in the category of uncontested but if you do fall in the category of contested divorces, it’s not the end of the world.

If you and your spouse are not able to agree on how things should be divided when the marriage is over you will more than likely have a contested divorce. This is the case when parties have children, marital property, money, etc involved and can’t decide on how those assets should be divided.

When a marriage ends its difficult and painful. When both parties agree on how things should be split, things tend to be a little smoother during the divorce process. It may still be hard but not as hard as it would be if you are having a contested divorce. Contested means that you will settle in court and uncontested means that you normally can settle the divorce out of court.

Uncontested divorces don’t cost as much as contested divorces. The contested divorces involves more legal fees and honestly are just more draining. It should only really be used as an option if both parties have no way to come to an agreement. You will not only save money but agreeing to terms on your own but you will probably save a lot of heartache as well.

If you are in fact going through a divorce and you and your spouse can’t agree on anything, find the best divorce attorney that you get and allow them to help you navigate through this painful time in your life.

Me and my husband have only been married one year and five months, we have no children, I moved in with him so it is his house, we don not hae anything in both of our names, everything is in his name, how simple would it be to get a divorce, we both will agree to it and after it is over we will both just walk away.
